Tallahassee show

Man of the hour, reason shit happily went down, Mr. Stone Hansard.
Woke up the next morning in the passenger seat of my car in an area I was not familiar with a glass of water outside next to a tree waiting for me. There's more story there, but yeah...

Could definitely be an off diptych for that first experimental show someone ever plays and there are healthy boundaries and you sound like a young Smegma. Just slap 'em together and BAM....

Attempting to sing in tweaked headphones. Came close.
Bailed on me for tour this last Tues., but I still love 'em.

Philip's rig.
Philip, in the dark.
Philip in motion, kind like a Futurist allusion? Eheh...
Going to town on the the reel to reels and other contraptions.

Dammit, Justin...

  1. Your images continue to improve. The moments you are creating are telling a story and are exposing the viewer to a backstage/roadie type experience of a tour. The concept is developing and it will be an interesting journey of images in the end.

  2. I agree with Sabra your images are getting better, they also are telling more of a story now. Keep up the good work can't wait to see the new group when you get back.

  3. The second image is especially interesting to me. All are interesting and pretty strong images though. I appreciate the personal narrative too it helps and makes things even more interesting.

  4. It keeps getting better and better with you kid! I love how your pictures tell me a story. It's like I am in your pocket or something going through this journey with you (weird I know!). I really like the one of your car. I can't wait to actually hear the whole story hah! keep up the good work and be safe out there!

  5. I really enjoy the images with tons of noise. The fuzzy quality of them and spot lighting that seems to come from above the images or from a single lamp are the most interesting to me. My favorite happens to by that diptych because of the focus of the center of the first image to the sides of the second. There is a presence of bodies then an absence even though you can still see people in the sides.
The first image and the one of Justin and the sign are not proving to be as interesting because of the other images surrounding them. Had them been paired with other images they would work better. but the fuzzy ones seem to all mesh well with each other.

  6. Don't have anything to say. Just keep cruising. Keep on telling the story and it will work itself out. This is just a topic that doesn't need quality shots. You know? Shooting from the hip is fine. The worse they look the better.

  7. I like your pictures a lot! THey work for what you're doing. While the lighting would not work for other people's series, it works great here and it strengthens your work.

  8. I have to agree with Shelley about the lighting in your pictures, I works really well for what your doing. I also really enjoy the picture of the bearded fellow, that guy put in some work on that thing, made for an interesting picture. i look forward to seeing more!

  9. Good documentary of your tour. They are getting more in focus and they are interesting because everyone loves "reality". Keep giving your narrative about the trip and taking pics to back it up and I think all wll be good with the book project.

  10. This a good documentary. It seems like there could be more pics, but maybe that is me. I like how there are captions to describe the images. A big improvment over the last set. (your friend has nice legs too)

  11. Yes, your images are telling more of a story and I'm looking forward to more pictures. Reminds me of Satriani's picture site and his little video updates they do when he's touring with his solo gig. You almost can't take a bad picture in your concept, but I enjoy the ones "behind the scenes" the most. Keep it up dude and rock on.

  12. The layout of the blog is awesome as a whole. I like the images because they seem raw and familiar. I like all of the daytime pictures especially the one of the water. Some of the night time pictures are blurry and seem out of place but then again touring some times everything is a blur. All in all I like it!
